A website is just four things put together: a name, a place for it to live, how it looks, and switching it on. Here's exactly where to get each one, in order.
1. Get your domain and hosting together, in one place
These two are almost always bought together, from the same company, in one purchase. Go to Hostinger, pick a plan, and buy it — a domain name (your website's address, like `yourname.com`) is often included free for the first year.
This is the one step where money changes hands. If you're a student, this is the right moment to bring in a parent or guardian — it just needs a card, the same as any other online purchase.
2. Open the website builder that comes with it
Once you've signed up, log into your new account and look for something called Website Builder or AI Builder. It's already included — nothing extra to buy, nothing to install, no coding.
3. Tell it what your website is about
Type a few sentences about what the site is for — a shop, a portfolio, a school project, anything. It builds a starting design for you based on that. You're reacting to something real, not starting from a blank page.
4. Change anything you don't like
Click directly on the words and pictures to edit them, the same way you'd edit a document. Swap the text, change the colors, replace the photos — however you like.
5. Click Publish
That's the whole thing. Your website is now live, at your own address, for anyone in the world to find.
Start to finish, this is usually a 20-minute job, not a weekend project.
If it still feels like a lot
That's completely normal, and it doesn't mean you did anything wrong. If you'd rather not do these five steps yourself, this — getting the domain, the hosting, the design, and going live, done for you, as cheaply and quickly as it can honestly be done — is exactly what byteyourbiz is for.
